How much does Auto TextBack cost? Is it a subscription?
It’s a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Google Play shows the price for your country before you buy, and after that it’s yours to keep.
Your first three replies are free. After that, you unlock the app once through Google Play.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. Your first three automatic replies are free, with no obligation to buy.
Does Auto TextBack collect my data or contacts?
No account, no ads, no hassles. Auto TextBack doesn’t use your location, camera, microphone, photos or files. If you use “Send auto-reply to” to reply to saved contacts only, or unknown numbers only, it checks whether a caller is saved in your contacts.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The auto-reply works without internet: your reply goes out as a normal SMS through your operator’s mobile network.
Only the Google Play purchase and the rating prompt use the internet, and Google Play handles both.
Why does it need call log and SMS permissions?
It needs them to notice a missed call, get the caller’s number and send your reply. Phone state notices that a call was missed, the call log gives the caller’s number, and Send SMS sends your reply.
The notifications permission lets it tell you when a call was missed but no reply went out because your free replies are used up.
Will it text every caller, including spam? How do cooldown and caps work?
Yes, it replies to any caller whose call you miss while it’s on, unless your cooldown, limits or paused hours stop it.
- Cooldown: from 5 minutes to 48 hours per number. The same caller isn’t texted again within it.
- Daily and monthly limits: a cap on how many replies go out.
- Paused hours: times when no replies are sent.
These help you manage replies, but they don’t guarantee against every unexpected message. Set them with care.
Does it cost me anything per SMS?
Yes, your operator charges each reply at its usual SMS rate, because the reply is a normal SMS from your own number. A long message may be split into several SMS parts, each charged separately. These charges go to your operator, not to us.
Is there an iPhone version?
No. Auto TextBack is an Android app, available only through Google Play. iOS doesn’t allow apps to detect missed calls or send SMS in the background, which is what Auto TextBack does on Android.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds go through Google Play’s refund policy. You can also email hello@mesensei.com, and we can refund through Google Play.
